I am planning a long backpacking trip to South East Asia and (possibly) Australia in January 2021 if Covid-19 allows it. I have been doing a lot of research whether it will be worth investing into a GoPro for my travels, I currently also have an iPhone 11 Pro which has an amazing camera as well, but I think the GoPro will be good if I do some zip lining, jungle treks and/or some diving. All the information online and what accessories I should buy has scrambled my head a bit so all advice is welcome!

Absolutely! Investing in a GoPro for your Southeast Asia adventures is at&t cable and internet bundles definitely worth it. Its compact size, durability, and high-quality footage make it ideal for capturing every thrilling moment, from diving in crystal-clear waters to exploring bustling markets. Plus, its versatility means you can effortlessly switch from stunning landscapes to adrenaline-pumping activities. Trust me, you won't regret having a GoPro as your travel companion in this vibrant region!
hi kelly Greetings, I'm Lia from one of the Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia in the Lombok area. here the beaches, forests, waterfalls are very beautiful and amazing. I hope you can visit my country soon 😊
My GoPro 5 died from saltwater exposure in Gili Air 2 weeks into my 3-month backpacking trip around Southeast Asia and even though I was so sad, I honestly ended up getting really great footage just with my iphone 6 (in a lifeproof case) for the rest of the trip and it was a lot easier to handle than juggling multiple devices!
If you plan on doing water activities that take you deep into the water, or activities that you wouldn't dare take your phone on (ziplining maybe?), a GoPro is a nice addition to your phone camera. However, I personally really enjoy using waterproof cases for my phone for things like swimming (and water activities such as stand-up paddling, canoeing, etc.), jungle treks (against humidity and dirt) and other situations where your phone might get wet or dirty. You wouldn't want to take your phone to deep into the water with you though and I can imagine holding your phone will ziplining is a bit scary too. So if you plan on doing a lot of that, a GoPro might be worth it!
If you want to record and take pictures of diving and other water activities then it's definitely worth it! I normally just have mine on a floaty handle with wrist strap and that is suitable for almost anything! You could also get a little tripod or the shorty stick too for some cool timelapses or just to record videos or take photos where you can just pop the camera down.
There are of course so many other attachment 😅 but I'd say those 2 are my faves/most used.
But your iPhone 11 Pro will be incred for everything else 😍
