For those that have travelled a lot across South East Asia, my husband and I are soon to be travelling for 14 months, some boarder crossings but quite a lot of flights, both domestic and international. Watching loads of YouTube videos so many people just take a carry on, but looking at the airlines allowance, most of them in SE Asia have a 7KG weight allowance. Looking at most people‘s packing videos, they must be over 7KG? Do most people just risk it and see if airlines check? How strict are airlines generally in SE Asia? Any advice would be amazing - it’s our first time travelling! :)

Did you find an answer to this or risk it yourselves?
I too am planning a trip to South East Asia and have this same question. I will be packing light but no way is 7kg gonna cover everything. If I can I would like to avoid checked baggage.
Hope you have a lovely trip, 14months is amazing! Wish I could take that much time travelling.
