Hey guys! Just found this forum. Question: do you think 26 is too old to travel? I know it sounds silly but a lot of people’s in hostels seem a bit younger just wondering if they’d think I’m weird haha. And was hoping to make friends at some point at least! I’m planning to solo travel aus for 2 months next year & ill be 27 in March.

OH JESUS i hope not pahaah! I went to Australia backpacking when i was 21 and my boyfriend was 19 and we always got called babies. Were going to SE Asia for the next few years and its looking like i'll be 26/27 by the time we leave and I'm worried about that too. but if you don't like big mixed dorms in hostels there's always private rooms to which let you have your privacy and still have the hostel/ backpacker lifestyle. We've seen all ages travelling but always in the back of my head that they're all 18 and fresh out of school. Aha, most of the time they're not and they're around our age.
No way! On my last trip I actually found that the mid-twenties age range was kind of the standard age! Hostels are a different planet, honestly. Age doesn't exist there 😂
Absolutley not! I've met people from 18-40++ years old at hostels, so 26/27yrs are not too old at all. Don't make your age decide if you should travel or not. Anyways, when you're at a hostel people don't care about age!
Not at all! I've met backpackers of all ages in hostels, I think if you are open to making friends then you will, regardless of your age! There are so many people aged 26/27/28, even people in there early 30's at hostels - so there is really nothing to worry about, its all about having fun and enjoying life so don't let age stop you!
