Hi Everyone, I was wondering which country in Latin America you would recommend to do a homestay for about 3 months to learn Spanish? I do not have any experience in speaking Spanish but am looking to learn as I would love to backpack around Latin America. I have been recommended Whee institute in Bogota however, would also love some other recommendation on which companies to go through. And lastly, would you recommend around 3 months or a shorter or longer amount of time?
Thanks everyone! :)

Most people I know have done either Quito, Ecuador or Antigua, Guatemala for Spanish immersion schools/homestays. Both places have really easy accents to understand so definitely good for beginners! I would recommend maybe about a month in the homestay and then a couple months traveling and using the language around the country/region! When I was in college I did a week at a Spanish school/homestay Quito just to brush up on my high school Spanish and then I spent a month working at an animal rehabilitation center in the Amazon and traveling around the Amazon region some, which was definitely a much shorter trip overall than what you're looking into but going on that trip was one of the best decisions I ever made!
